This online microteaching lesson well. I felt comfortable teaching, perhaps due to my job teaching online at the moment. I practiced before the lesson to get acquainted with Blackboard and its features, which I think helped calm me down as I had an idea on how to fix issues if they occur. However, it was uncomfortable not seeing anyone's faces, as I am so used to seeing and reacting to my learners faces. Through this process, I learnt how to navigate and use Blackboard collaborate, becoming aware of its many tools that can be used during lessons. Additionally, I became more proficient at creating Kahoot's and while there were many options not available to me without paying, I was able to create a suitable assessment quiz. If I were to teach this lesson again, I would make an effort to talk more slowly and clearly and explain instructions in a more succinct manner. I would also create a more in depth Kahoot, with additional slides where we could stop and talk about why the lesson objectives were so important. The tools I chose to teach this lesson were suitable as the slides allowed me to communicate my lesson in a structured manner and provide examples to learners in a fun and engaging manner, and the video I created added to the creativity of the lesson and served as a good hook for the learners. The Kahoot also allowed me to garner an understanding of how well my lesson was received by the learners and provide them feedback immediately as everyone participated in it, giving me a full sense of everyone's understanding. This experience has shown me how to adapt lessons that would usually be completed at school face to face, into an online lesson and still keep the fun and excitement you think that you might miss. It has also shown me that these traditional lessons can be easily adapted with a little bit of imagination and creativity. Finally, it has shown me that I do not need to be afraid of using technology in the classroom. Overall, I really enjoyed this lesson, even though I have a lot to improve on.
